Dailytech.com just released an article today linking to the Asus R2H FCC Documents.
Like always, the FCC documents included the user manual(1,2) and some pictures of the device on tables and taken apart.
Like we have heard before the device includes a built in GPS, wireless LAN and Bluetooth, SD Memory Slot, an expansion port for an add on port bar and other devices, fingerprint scanner(which doubles as a vertical scroll wheel), built in 1.3 M camera, thumbstick cursor control, direction buttons, right and left thumbstick mouse buttons, and last but not least the InstantFun+ Key (Which launches a multimedia player).
The manual also references a few add on components including a fold up keyboard.

Once again jkOnTheRun has a great article posted. This time Fernando Miralles has posted instructions on how he upgraded the hard drive on his Sony Vaio UX50 from a 30 GB drive to a 60 GB.
The drive he used was a Toshiba MK6008GAH and there are detailed step by step picture instructions here Read the full story

Someone has sent me this great animated gif which sums up exactly what I was talking about in my post on the $1500 Carrypad Office Companion. A UMPC, the ultra-mobile PC, can be turned into a home PC just by adding a docking station!

The ultra mobile PC is already a great concept as a device in its own right, but with the addition of a docking station, why not use it as your home PC too! The only thing is, is this animation just a concept or a real docking station? We’re on the case!

I’ve been hearing that the extended battery for the eo/easybook/it’s/T700 ultra mobile PC is nearly available through resellers now (and about time too, this should have been available for review devices on day one.) CTitanic reported that Tablet Kiosk would have it available for order in two weeks and I assume that Paceblade will also have it soon. Price is going to be up to the reseller but I know that PocketPC Solutions/Tablet Kiosk in the UK is offering it for UKP100. Its on offer via Tablet Kiosk in the U.S. for $150.
The design looks good and the weight is reported as ‘just noticeable.’ 4-5 hours useability is really worth having in my opinion. Given that after you’ll buy this you will also be able to use that original battery as a 2 hour spare, the eo v7110/easybook P7/its/T700 is getting more and more attractive every day.
Now as I said the other day, if there was a docking solution, this would just about make the eo irresistable as a home/ultra mobile PC for me.

According to Kevin Tofel at
JKontherun.com Best Buy just dropped the price of the Sling Media SlingBox to $149.99.
Since the SlingBox seems to be the “must have” item for the ultra mobile PC devices, getting it cheaper seems like a good time to buy it. Read the full story

In an effort to compete in the ultra mobile PC market, OQO has dropped the price of its Model 01+ by $200.
The OQO is now being priced at $1699, making it now cheaper than the Sony UX micro PC.
My belief is that both the OQO and Sony UX are too expensive in the ultra mobile PC market right now considering the eo and Q1 are both around $1000. However both the eo and UX series come with a keyboard so that might be adding the extra $700 or so.
