Tega V2 Arrived. Unboxing Video

Posted on 15 October 2010, Last updated on 18 October 2010 by

tega2-1Thanks to Tegatech we now have the 10 inch capacitive touchscreen Tega V2 in our hands. I’ve just uploaded the unboxing video and as I write this, am preparing for the live session this evening at Carrypad.com/live. It starts at 2100 CEST just over an hour from this posting time but we will record parts of the session. Also in the live session Samsung Galaxy Tab.

Update: Live session videos are available here. (We have since fixed the calibration issue.) I will be writing more about the device next week

More information on the Tega V2 is available on the Tega V2 Information Page.

I think it is very disappointing that this so called “Australian” tablet has a major price discrepancy between ordering on the US website versus the AU website, even though our currency is at parity with the US dollar.

    2GB / 32GB SSD / No Windows costs US$805 from tegatech.us

    2GB / 32GB SSD / No Windows costs 605 euros from tegatech.eu (US$844)

    2GB / 32GB SSD / No Windows costs AU$1021 from tegatech.com.au when it should be $814-$850.

It is ironic we have a similar price discrepancy from Apple as the 64GB iPad 3G costs AU$1049 vs US$829 from the Apple websites.

Pretty disappointing for Australians like myself interested in this product expecting a fair go from Tegatech.

Nice, but would like to see HDMI out, 64 GB SSD, built in stand, and flip open back case for battery replacement and several micro-SD card molded-in storage/carry pods.

I will buy a dual boot tablet. Need Windows 7 for work, but would enjoy full access Andriod 3.0 for fun and surfing.

    This is close.

I was checking all last night for the live session but didn’t manage to catch it. I just watched the recorded live session for the Galaxy Tab and it mentioned that the Tega V2 session had already been done. When will this be uploaded to watch?
