An ASUS-funded blog, Techinstyle.TV, uploaded a video to YouTube today about the ASUS S Series Ultrabooks. It looks like they might have uploaded it a day too early as there was no announcement at Computex today about S Series Ultrabooks! In fact, we can’t find anything about them anywhere. And just like that, inside 12 hours, the Ultrabook market was turned on its head. I’m looking back at the HP Envy 6t that we put in the database this morning and thinking wow!, I wonder if anyone’s going to buy an Ultrabook before Windows 8 launches. What happened at Computex today was exciting, but a little worrying. Hopefully we’ll be back to current-day Ultrabooks on Day 1 at Computex.

Finally we move away from Windows 8 Ultrabooks launching at Computex and get to a good ‘old’ regular Ultrabook that’s likely to be available soon. The ASUS S-Series Ultrabooks are 14 and 15 inch with an optical disk drive. This one is aimed at productivity and multimedia. Gamers take note of the Nvidia GT630M and Altec Lansing speakers.
