Leaked pictures of Gigabyte’s X11, the ‘Worlds lightest Ultrabook,’ show that it is in fact based on the same core design as Mouse Computers LuvBook X. Carbon Fiber is the key to the light weight here. On the top, the LuxBook X. On the bottom, the Gigabyte X11
We tipped the Gigabyte X11 as an OEM build and possibly the Mouse Computers Luvbook X11. It looks like we were right. Pocket Lint has a set of images but no confirmation on specs. Maybe the LuvBook X can help us.

I reviewed the X11 last month. It was good. It wasn’t the Gigabyte X11 though! That will launch on May 31st and will undoubtedly be shown off at Computex Taipei just days later. Inside sources had already tipped me off on this one but Gigabyte seem to be keeping quiet on information because this media invite is all we have to go on right now. Source: Ubergizmo
Interestingly Gigabyte don’t mention Ultrabook here so keep an open mind. Smartbook or an Atom-based notebook are also within the scope of this invitation but we’ve got a feeling it’s going to be a premium device. Given that Gigabyte have already got the U2442 that we’re expecting to be available soon, maybe they are looking for something to come in above the Ultrabook. Sony and Samsung have the same strategy.

Releasing a 1st-generation Ultrabook while the excitement builds to 2nd-gen Ultrabooks based on Ivy Bridge may, at first, seem a stupid move but when it’s a unique product like the new LuvBook X from Mouse Computers in Japan, it may not make much difference. The LuvBook X is going to be the second 11.6” Ultrabook on the market, the first with a carbon-fiber body and the first to break 1KG.
