The Atom chip. Windows 8. For those seeking productivity and portability these technologies promised to fulfil that need but ultimately fell short. Intel’s Bay Trail CPU and Windows 8.1 are designed to finally meet those needs but do they really combine to produce the perfect storm for Windows tablets? The first Bay Trail tablets are now arriving, starting with the Dell a few weeks ago and now the Lenovo Miix2, Toshiba Encore are up on Amazon.com, the Dell Venue 11 Pro on Dell.com and Amazon plus Dell gives you 32GB for free!

With the official launch of Windows 8.1 as previously announced, the Dell Venue 8 Pro and the Asus Transformer Book T100 are now available to order online from various online retailers and are the first Bay Trail devices to be available to consumers.

I’ve managed to get a video close-up of the Dell Venue Window 8, 8-inch tablet. Watch the video and you’ll here the product manager give some new information. I had hands-on too and it feels absolutely great, a real quality tablet. 400gm in weight is amazing.
