This isn’t going to be a standard review of the Fujitsu Q702. This review include 2-weeks of mobile working experience over two trade-shows which included many thousands of words or text, hundreds of images and around 30 YouTube video productions while away from mains power. We’ve found some issues. We’ve spoken to Fujitsu. We’ve done a lot of analysis on the bigger picture with Hybrids too. The Fujitsu Q702 is the most complex and multi-faceted PC we’ve ever tested so grab a coffee and enjoy the review.
Via the Gadgetjm YouTube channel we’re looking at a hands-on with the very smart looking Business Ultrabook ASUSPro BU400.
This is obviously a business-oriented Ultrabook with a full set of ports and focus on touchpad and keyboard quality. Anti-glare HD/HD+ displays (options we assume) and..touchscreen. (not seen in the video, maybe it’s an option.) Spill resistant keyboard and reinforced carbon construction. This is a VPro-enabled ‘Ultrabook for Business’ with encrypted hard drive, TPM module and Fingerprint reader. Ports: VGA, headset port, SD card, 3xUSB3.0, HDMI, LAN port. No Thunderbolt port.
Starting price is to be a surprisingly keen 899 Euro so we assume some of the specs above are optional.
It weighs 1.64KG (3.65lb) Availability is, like all Windows 8 Ultrabooks, October.
The 13.3” Series 5 is already shipping in Germany so expect full reviews from that part of the world within days but there’s already a nice detailed review up at 3DNews, a Russian website, who also appear to be happy with the Ultrabook. They’ve got some ‘naked’ pictures too!
Let the Gaming begin! Using the Ultrabook branding, Samsung have officially announced two interesting Ultrabooks that extend the category in a number of directions. The Samsung Series 5 Ultrabooks will offer a larger screen option, terabyte storage and AMD HD7550M discreet graphics in some models.
Samsung Series 5 Ultrabooks launched in homeland, South Korea today.
We’ve just had a note from Toshiba Europe to say that the Toshiba Satellite Z830-10J is now shipping in Germany, Austria and, I believe, the Benelux area. Specs are as we have then in the database (note it’s the Satellite and not the Portege in Europe…so far) and the official spec list confirms a matt screen. (Entspiegelt) Recommended retail price is €1099 but I see a number of retailers offering it for €999. Amazon for example. (Toshiba Satellite Z830-10J – aff.)
