LG Xnote Z330. More hands-on and testing.

The LGNote X330 is a smart-looking Ultrabook that I’d really like to get in for a review as soon as possible. In a short testing period today at CeBIT I was able to test the keyboard and screen, take a look at the build quality and ports. Unfortunately there’s a micro-sd card slot instead of a full SD card slot which limits its usability.

Overall though it seems to have some really good quality features. The keyboard feels really nice and the screen pops nicely.

Check out more in the video below.

The Ultrabooks Of CES 2012

Samsung Series 9 2012

We were told that 30-50 ultrabooks would appear at CES last week and while there was indeed a lot of buzz and news, there really are only two truly new models to consider today. Everything else was either already reported, a future, demonstrator or prototype Ultrabook. Some will make it to the shelves, most won’t. In total we added 9 devices to the database (along with a ton of links, images and videos) and there are a few more that may appear later in the year but let’s go over the important devices to be considered over the next month and mention a few brands that still aren’t in the game. After you’ve read the article, let us know what your Ultrabook shortlist looks like.

You can view all the current Ultrabooks and many Ultrabook  alternatives in our comprehensive Ultrabook product database.

I finally had a chance to get a little more time with the LG Xnote Z330 this morning at Intels CES booth which, incidentally, must be 50% Ultrabook-focused. Unfortunately the LG Xnote Z330 was attached to a stand but I had a chance to look round it.

Our close blogging friends over at Netbooknews.de (We’ll be working closely at CES in Jan) have what must be the first hands-on report for the LG Xnote Z330 Ultrabook. It’s slim, attractive and comes in Core i5 and Core i7 versions, with a 128GB SSD. It will arrive on European shelves in Jan or Feb (Marketing talk for Feb!) for a reasonable, if not ground-breaking, price of 999 Euros. (Post-tax price.)

The size of the notebook has been kept to a minimum through the use of the LG Shuriken display technology so you’ve effectively got a 13.3” screen in the space of a 12” laptop although looking at the Toshiba Z830 specifications, it’s the same width. The Xnote Z330 is up to 14.7mm thick and is said to have a 6hr battery life. The new Ultrabook is due for availability this month but there’s no word of availability outside South Korea at the moment.
